But really…who IS D.K. Lyons?
D.K. told his mother when he was 5 years old, “One day I’m going to be a rock star.”
In the two decades since then, he’s been writing songs at an incredible rate, beginning with simple titles, moving to titles + lyrics, and eventually picking up a guitar and learning the ways of production. 1,500+ songs later, he’s finally learned 1,400 ways to not write a song.
But all of that experience in failure has led him to today, an artist grounded with a unique style and voice, ready to take over the airwaves. Born in Massachusetts and based in Manhattan, 2020 saw D.K. release his debut album to rave reviews and over 25K organic Spotify streams.
In 2021, he debuted Vandalism, a collection of songs about the emotional vandalism that humans inflict upon each other, some destructive and some beautiful. Featuring the anthemic Summer Lullabies and the critical Poster Child that calls out systemic sexual abuse in the music industry, the 6-song set is a forceful step forward for Lyons establishing himself as a standout songwriter, producer and musician.
From 2022-2024, D.K. dropped over 10 singles that built anticipation for his 2nd album, the aptly titled SOPHOMORIC RAMBLING, which amassed over 100K streams and was accompanied by a companion film
Darling Kiss Louder” is the 3rd EP from genre bending artist D.K. Lyons. A cohesive sentence broken up into 7 diverse songs rooted in D.K.’s multilayered and pensive lyrics, the EP is a snapshot of modern love and romance and asks the question “Does true love exist in 2025?” Pulling influence from pop punk, Americana, UK Garage, Lofi, grunge, and D.K.’s classic pop rock style, “Darling Kiss Louder” represents a bold new era for DKL.
Above all else, D.K. likes to dance. He likes to be bold. But he also values humility and authenticity, never bending or compromising his artistic integrity.
Among the many things that drive D.K.’s relentless passion and need to write and create music, catharsis tops the list. And wherever and whenever you listen, his hope is that you feel something too.
