Evocative pop troubadour D.K. Lyons has shared new album ‘Sophomoric Rambling’ in full.

Out now, his new album is deeply ambitious – a double LP excursion into some difficult areas of his life. D.K. Lyons went through some troubled times in his early years, losing his father before finding love and redemption with the triad of powerful women who raised him.

Now based in glitzy Manhattan, there’s a terrific honesty to his work. Recent fan-favourite singles such as ‘When We Were Falling In Love’, ‘Where Do All the Sad Girls Go?’ and ‘Fake Ray Bans’ have been adored online, and there’s plenty more on the full album to explore.

From its title down ‘Sophomoric Rambling’ has a coy, tongue-in-cheek manner, with D.K. Lyons coating his personal revelations in some witty lyrical flair. Blending this with a variety of alt-pop styles, he’s hit upon a winning mixture.

In an era where so much focus in music is on viral song snippets and following algorithmic trends, I feel so incredibly proud and rewarded by the process of creating such a deep and expansive project and the amazing feedback I’ve received on the songs and content that have been released to date. My ambitions are always so lofty and longwinded and this project, from the album to the videos to the short film, capture that and 100% represent me as an artist and what I stand for.

‘SOPHOMORIC RAMBLING’ is an album about me and my life, but it’s also about the universal human search for hope and deeper meaning in an increasingly superficial world.
